Israel day 3- Ashdod beach and Rechovot museum!

Today was once again an incredible day in camp YTT! After davening and an amazing shuir given by Swerly, we went to the dining room for a gourmet breakfast! After breakfast we boarded the bus and took a long bus ride to the Ashdod beaches! The raging heat didn't bother us as we crashed the waves and dodged the jellyfish.
We changed back into our camp shirt and anxiously awaited the next activity of the day. We then arrived in Rechovot.  We filled our empty stomachs with yummmmmy lunch. Before we knew it, we transported into a different time period. We were fascinated by the information told to us by our tourguides  in  Ayalon Museam. Here we saw how a young group of Isreali teenagers endangered their lives to provide the ammunition for Israel. Their mission: To gain independence from the British mandate. We watched a short informative film which blew our mind away. We then were able to experience going 24 feet underground to the very place were these 45 courageous  teens, secretly  manufactured bullets for the entire country. In only 3 years they produced 2 and a quarter million bullets. Wow!! That's a lot of bullets!!
We came home and davened mincha. Our summer theme was introduced to us through a song and dance improv by our counselors and some fellow campers. After supper and "swerly moment" we heard from Limor, an incredible woman.Layla tov!! We have a big day ahead of us!!
